Speaker’s Lab

Speakers’ Lab is a new public programming initiative dedicated to exploring new perspectives on Jewish culture and identity. Based in New York City, Speakers’ Lab presents debates, arts performances, and panel discussions in collaboration with other organizations and venues. Each event is accompanied with pre-event materials to enhance and deepen the discussion, including panelists’ statements and interviews.

In May 2012, Speakers' Lab presented Now What? The Future of New Jewish Culture, about the recent loss of funding for Jewish arts and culture in America. Now What? was presented in collaboration with The Jewish Daily Forward, and the 14th Street Y. Later that year, in December, Speakers' Lab presented Is Jewish Education Broken? exploring the challenges facing liberal Jewish education today and new models for the 21st century. This event was presented in collaboration with The New School, Tablet Magazine, and the 14th Street Y.
